Rackerby is a small unincorporated community located in Yuba County, California, United States. It is situated along State Route 20, approximately 14 miles east of Marysville. The town was founded in the late 1800s and was named after John Rackerby, an early settler in the area. Today, Rackerby is mainly a rural residential community surrounded by grazing lands and forested hills. The area is known for its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation opportunities, and historical sites, including the Rackerby Post Office, which was established in 1877 and is still in operation today. The community has a small population of around 200 people and is served by a volunteer fire department and a few local businesses.
